Summary
The primary role of the Therapist is to conduct individual and group counseling sessions as well as crisis intervention during the day while providing exceptional customer service to make sure the highest quality work standards are achieved and maintained according to practice policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain high ethical standards including and beyond all company, state/federal policies, procedures and regulations.
Apply ethical and legal principles to the placement and treatment of clients with mental health problems in an outpatient setting, ensuring that clients receive appropriate mental health care. These include, but are not limited to, one-on-one and group therapy, ongoing patient assessment, and liaising with clinical and community organizations
Ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws, regulations and guidelines by, among other things, upholding policies and procedures of the company and all HIPAA requirements
Uphold all rules and regulations governing mental health confidentiality
Provide regular updates to assigned clients to determine current mental status and functioning
Conduct therapy and psycho educational groups to improve clients’ coping skills.
Utilize evidence-based treatment methods in treating clients
Provide resources and information to help clients define goals; implement treatment plans; and achieve personal, social, educational, vocational development
Complete discharge planning for assigned clients consistent with client expectations
Coordinate provision of and may act as liaison with clinical services for patients with other programs, community agencies, and/or medical services
Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with depression and/or anxiety
Possess the clinical assessment skills to identify real or potential adverse events during treatment where treatment should be interrupted or terminated
Remain up-to-date on industry knowledge, technologies, certifications/licensures. Attend seminars, workshops, CEU’s, and conferences to meet the requirements of licensure and compliance with all facility protocols, procedures, and guidelines
Process, Report, Record and Communicate patient care and patient needs to appropriate providers in a clear and timely manner using the technology provided
Complete mental health assessments in format required by the agency for clients referred based on intake process, staff referral or client self-referral
Provide timely, accurate, and concise documentation of client care; legibly document all client encounters in electronic medical records within 48 hours of seeing patients
Participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team for development of client individual treatment plans and subsequent treatment plan reviews
Complete assessments of clients at intake and regularly thereafter as assigned
Inform supervisor and psychiatric staff of significant change in a client’s functioning
Advise medical personnel of client’s medical or physical restrictions or needs
Support the smooth and safe function of the office and company as a whole in pursuit of its mission
Provide crisis intervention as requested
Provide documented supervision for unlicensed mental health staff as required by the State, if qualified
Maintain appropriate sized caseload to meet productivity expectations
Attend staff meetings, as well as other meetings as required
Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling software. Answer phone calls in a professional manner
Performs additional duties as needed up to and including the willingness to be flexible by possibly traveling to other facilities and adjusting your schedule to meet patient needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher from applicable accredited program
Valid state LCSW or LPC license (Provisional license with supervisor accepted)
Experience in mental health counseling
Strong computer abilities and proficiency with google suite and electronic medical records
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical pharmacology
Understand and comply with HIPAA
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team especially in stressful situations.
CPR certified or willing to become certified through an accredited program
Ability to provide telehealth
Desire to do a thorough job in a fast-paced environment, must be detail oriented and highly organized
Able to maintain professionalism with patients and teammates in a mental health setting.

Pre Preferred Qualifications:
Experience is Medicated Addiction Treatment (MAT) preferred
Prior outpatient therapy experience
Ability to train and coach other employees
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly sitting for long periods at a desk while communicating in person, on the phone, or computer. This job also requires you to physically be able to walk, stand, stoop and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific hand, visual, and auditory dexterity is required by this job, including close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Staff are required to be trained on crisis intervention maneuvers and--except where physically unable--expected to carry them out.
